Community food gardens
Kiama Council has assisted in the development of a demonstration community garden at North Kiama Neighbourhood Centre.
This has involved:
- the installation of a 4,500 litre rain water tank donated by BlueScope Water

- additional seating
- the installation of pathways around the raised garden beds which also double as a bike path for the Playgroup which operates out of the Centre
- revitalisation of the garden beds by Centre participants.
This demonstration garden also serves for conducting educational workshops such as Waterwise Gardening, Worm Farming and Composting.
Council is also looking at other sites around the municipality.
Keep watch for other garden sites being established by Council.
