Blue Haven is owned and operated by Kiama Municipal Council. Established in 1979, major renovations, alterations and additions were completed in 2003. A new Stage 5 commenced in July 2005 .
The facility is located in Havilah Place, Kiama, adjacent to the Kiama Leisure Centre and sports fields as well as the Blue Haven Village independent living units, in the beautiful seaside town of Kiama.

Residency at Blue Haven has an admission procedure that needs to be followed.
Resident fees are determined by Centrelink in accordance with Commonwealth legislation in relation to the resident's capacity to pay. The fee can vary depending on the resident's income and whether the resident is a pensioner, part-pensioner or non-pensioner. Full details are available from the aged care facility's Administration Manager.
The Facility has a Board of Management which has 10 members comprising 2 Councillors, 1 representative from the "Friends of Blue Haven" and 7 community representatives. The Chief Executive Officer of the facility is also the General Manager of Kiama Municipal Council.
