Community Respite Service

What is it?

The Kiama Community Respite Service offers carers an opportunity to have time-out of their caring role by providing support to the person who they are caring for. These services are planned, flexible and responsive to individual need. They are provided by trained volunteers and may include activities such as outings, companionship, meal preparation, arts and crafts, board games.

Kiama Community Respite Service also runs a bowling outing on every Tuesday of the month, for younger people with a disability.

Who is it for?

Respite is provided to carers of frail, older people and younger people with a disability. It is not for people who require emergency assistance or those with complex care needs.

Process of referral
